Happy 65th Wedding Anniversary

Happy 65th Wedding AnniversaryTwo residents from Bank Close House in Chesterfield recently celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary.

The homes manager said: “They are such a lovely couple who are as much in love now as I imagine they were when they first met. I am really happy that we were able to provide them with this special party to mark the occasion, but I am even happier that we got to witness and be a part of it. I hope this will be a memory that they will cherish forever.”

On the day they enjoyed 1 hour in a chauffeur driven Rolls Royce, two beautiful Anniversary cakes, Champagne for toasting, a cream tea at lunch and a buffet tea.

Everyone at Devonshire Care would like to wish them a Happy Anniversary with many more years to come.

Congratulations to you both on this special day.

Garden Party Update

garden party update bank close houseThis years Garden Party held on the 23rd July at Bank Close House, Chesterfield was a great success. Throughout the day service users, family and friends came together for a fun filled day to help raise money for our residents. Our aim this year was to try and match our last years total of £517. After counting up all that we raised, this years total was a staggering £1,630. This would not have been possible without all of the hard work, support and kind donations from all of the people who came along to support us.

A residents meeting will take place in the near future where we will discuss how the funds will be best spent.

We would like to say a big THANK YOU to everybody who took part in making this possible.

Pamper Day Update

pamper day follow up 2016The pamper day we held on the 6th July was an amazing success and we now have many relaxed and rejuvenated residents. Some residents enjoyed a full manicure and polish, some indulged in a mini facial or head massage, while others enjoyed a simple hand massage. The response was really good from all the residents who took part. We are planning on making this more of a regular activity and will be arranging for this event to take place again in the upcoming weeks.
